Our journey began with a simple yet profound vision: to create a space where individuals could find solace, understanding, and genuine support on their path to healing.
Driven by the desire to uplift and empower, we set out to build more than just a practice – we built a community. A community built on trust, compassion, and the unwavering belief in the human capacity for resilience and growth.
At Restore & Renew, we understand that healing is not a linear journey; it's a deeply personal and transformative process. That's why we offer a range of therapeutic services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual who walks through our doors. From trauma-informed care to mindfulness-based approaches, we are committed to providing evidence-based interventions that foster lasting change.
✨“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” ― Brené Brown. ✨
Throughout my life, I have always lived by the motto of “we are not born for ourselves alone” and I think that speaks to the reason why I became a therapist and the passion behind why I do what I do. To be trusted with the stories of humans coming to Restore & Renew Counseling is a privilege. As a therapist, I empower my clients to be their unique selves and to find restoration, renewal, and healing through sharing their story. I value developing a trusting and safe environment for my clients to truly allow their light to shine, where it may have been dimmed before. I utilize a holistic approach to healing, focusing on the integration of emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness, while using a strengths-based approach. Many times along this journey of life, we may get thrown off balance. When we lose our balance, that is often when we begin to lose sight of our life’s path or purpose. Thankfully, the process of counseling can be an exciting journey, full of new growth, opportunities, and perspectives. I am here to guide you through the process of becoming the best version of yourself, and it all starts with showing up!
I believe we are all capable of change and beginning that journey toward restoration of our truest selves starts with building a trusting environment with each individual. Contact me today to set up a consultation!

For me, it’s enjoying moments with my husband and daughter, close friends, siberian malamute pup Atlas 🐾, spending hours outside in nature, nourishing homemade food (make a bomb guacamole!), or a warm cup of tea! 🍵
I think it looks differently for everyone, especially within the realm of counseling. To me, in life, if we never experienced heartbreak, failure, disappointment, loss, and the many other raw emotions life brings us, then we would never experience the opportunity for growth, transformation, and restoration in which those moments bring about. Once the process of restoration is complete, that is when a renewed perspective can and usually takes place. To me, you can’t have one without the other and that is the beauty in transformation through counseling.
My desire is for each person to experience peace, restoration, and revival in their lives. Wherever your path has led you, I am ready to meet you right where you are. I use a holistic approach to counseling and view the entire person and their experiences as a whole, empowering individuals to make positive and meaningful changes to their lives.
I see individuals through the lens of their unique strengths and believe that the restoration and renewal of our minds will not take place in the presence of judgement. I understand that therapy can be very intimidating at first; however, when there is a trusting relationship, it’s easier to begin the painstaking and life-altering work that can lead to a life of healing. While I do not have all of the answers, I can help lead you to restoration and renewal by providing you with an empathetic and safe environment, with an occasional sense of humor.
I whole-heartedly believe that the foundation of counseling begins with the working relationship, and I am looking forward to working together with each individual that I serve!

Spending time at a local coffee shop ☕or spending an unhealthy amount of time at Costco. My favorite pastime is hanging out with my friends and family, or enjoying a sunny day outside with my husband and son, Elijah! If there is a body of water nearby, you can probably find us there too. ☀️
To me, when something is restored, it is always better than it was to begin with. Restoration means taking the shattered pieces of our life, gluing them together, and making them strong in the places that were once weak. When we receive new insight, new thought patterns, compassion and more, these elements assist in the renewing of our minds.
Life is complicated and sometimes a challenge to manage. Through therapy, I help clients learn how to identify, accept, and cope with life challenges that come their way and assist with helping them develop the skills needed to live their best life.
My experience includes helping clients work through issues related to stress, trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, self-esteem, self-injury, and relationships, along with providing guidance for educational and vocational pursuits. With therapy, clients can learn how to identify their goals and create the life they want.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, families, and the elderly in residential, correctional, and community-based settings. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to build insight and develop the skills needed to cope with and manage a variety of challenges

“Faith is taking the first step even if you don’t see the whole staircase” - MLK Jr.
Therapy is very much like this. You may not know where you are headed with this journey but the fact that you are here taking the first step is all that matters right now.
Investing in yourself to take care of your mental health is the greatest gift you can give yourself and those you interact with whether it is your family, friends, coworkers or whoever you are connected to. Ultimately, taking care of you FOR you is so important.
I have been a clinical social worker for 22 years and have watched so many people take this step. It is amazing what can be accomplished through the therapy process. I would love the opportunity to help you take this step and continue to grow!

To renew myself, in my free time I spend my time with my family and our pets. I love to make plans to travel, try new foods and visit new restaurants, and keep up on all of the things my family is involved in. I love to be busy!
As a therapist, I believe that everyone is deserving of the opportunity to speak and be truly heard.
My hope is to provide a safe and trusting environment for us to create a genuine connection, as I believe this is the most foundational piece of a healthy counseling relationship.
We can work together, fostering a collaborative approach to discover the goals and needs of each individual. My priority is to meet each unique person where they are along their journey while utilizing a person-centered & holistic approach, as you are the expert in your life’s experiences.
For myself, the most meaningful aspect of being a therapist is being trusted to walk through a piece of someone’s journey alongside them. Bearing witness to the strength and resilience that people have is a truly honorable experience and I look forward to each opportunity!
I value holding a warm, judgement-free space to connect with individuals and work together. I have gained experience working with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma, specifically survivors of sexual assault, as well as anxiety, depression, ADHD, life-adjustments, and more. Various modalities that are incorporated in session include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Talk Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Empowerment Based Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
I received my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University and my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Saginaw Valley State University.
Being outside, specifically in my hammock, kayak, or walking my sweet and stubborn bulldog! I enjoy drinking too much coffee, reading fiction, and all things crafty but mostly embroidery and sewing. My newest (and perhaps most therapeutic) hobby has been working with clay in my basement studio!
When first hearing restored and renewed, it leaves me with thoughts of clarity, strength, and freshness. It is recognizing and valuing the journey we have been on in all seasons of our lives bringing us to this point. To me, it means honoring oneself as we all deserve the time and space for growth.
What if the goal of therapy is to make it easier to access more of your true self and your strengths, rather than trying to get over who you really are? The approach I take to counseling is strengths-based, person-centered and holistic; I value and respect all of the parts that make a person whole. I strive to meet my clients where they are at; I won’t force you to discuss what you are not ready to talk about, and I can handle hearing what you need to share without judgement. What is most important to me is that my clients feel seen, heard, and safe during our time together.
I believe that self-understanding and self-acceptance are the first steps to releasing feelings like distress, worry, anxiety, guilt, anger and shame that are oftentimes the result of self-critical thought patterns or beliefs about oneself. Through the counseling process I hope to explore those thoughts and emotions with you in order to deepen your connection to your authentic self and uncover what is at the heart of a concern. I am not here to “fix” or change your brain, rather, together we will identify individualized goals and discuss strategies that feel useful to you and align with your true hopes and desires. I will ask questions, guide you to make connections, and empower you to lean into your strengths and understand your challenges so that you may feel more complete in your skin, mind, and life.
If you feel that my style could be a good fit for you and would like some additional information, please call or email me for a free consultation.

Activities that bring me joy include: anything that requires movement, whether it be dancing, running, or even rearranging my furniture at home; learning from podcasts, books, articles and stories told by friends; listening to music, old and new, especially when its vinyl; and finding peace in nature, in particular the beautiful lakes, trails and rivers of Northern Michigan!
For me, to be renewed and restored means to find your way back to yourself and to begin again.

Like most of us, I indulge in way too much caffeine. I enjoy exploring local coffee shops and finding comfortable spaces to lose myself in reading. I have spent countless hours picking up random hobbies, listening to my favorite true crime podcasts, and sifting through any bookstores that I happen to stumble across. I also love adventuring through Michigan with my husband and spending time lazing around with our adorable (and chaotic) rescue mutt!
We live in such a fast-paced world, which sometimes means our own needs are often neglected. For myself to achieve restoration and renewal, I try to focus on improving my overall wellness by setting healthy boundaries and giving myself the patience and kindness that I give to others.
“You are braver than you believe, smarter than you seem, and stronger than you think.” —Winnie-the-Pooh
We are each stronger, braver, and more resilient than we know. As a therapist, I believe my work is to assist individuals in seeing their own strength. I believe we are each the experts of our own unique lives.
With this in mind, any person can benefit from the supportive environment of counseling and therapy.
My hope as a therapist is to assist individuals as they continue to write their own story, through a holistic and empowerment-based approach.

I enjoy any kind of craft or art project, but probably my most loved art form is painting. I also enjoy cooking, being outside, spending time with family, and music.
To be restored and renewed does not mean leaving behind who we once were, but finding new, and better ways to be the best versions of who we currently are.
Everyone has those life struggles that seem to make things harder. Putting roadblocks in the path of where you want to be. Depression and anxiety are two needs that are commonly addressed in treatment and can be overcome.
I am here to help you navigate these roadblocks, whether in your own life or within your relationships. I have experience working with couples and families, as well as individuals. I am open to different backgrounds or cultures and will work hard to meet you where you are in your life.
Admitting to needing help can be scary. It is not easy to say, "I might not be able to do this on my own". This is not an admission of weakness, but rather the strength to take that first step to getting better.

Being Restored is to feel all the little pieces of yourself that have been broken or lost, come back together. Not always in the same order, but still as a beautiful whole. Renewal is what gives you the energy and courage to do this.
Every life that has been lived until today is a part of the woven braid of life. It takes every person's story to create history. Your life will help determine the course of history. You may think you don’t have much of an impact but you do. - Ginny Dye
Life is a journey of decisions, actions, stories. The stories create who we are and what actions we take. Each story is what makes us who we are. The best part about a story is that we can rewrite the ending. Throughout my life I have always known that every story I write or rewrite , has the potential to empower others. My desire is to help others find the courage and the strength to rewrite their own stories to find the ending that best fits their life.
Human behavior is connected to your inner feelings and self image and through exploration of those as well as experiences that have shaped those feelings, my hope as a psychologist is that you reach your fullest growth as an individual in the areas of love, self worth, autonomy and fulfillment. Using compassion, empathy, and life experiences, my goal is to help others tap into their strengths and uniqueness to find their true self.
By utilizing a three fold approach of self actualization, self fulfillment and self worth I hope to help you see the whole person and begin to challenge, grow and love every step of that journey as you write your story.

Being able to feel worthy and whole again, to start over and take your experiences to frame who you want to be and reestablish your commitment to life and all the challenges and success it has to offer, this is renewal. To reestablish who you are, to impact others, to journey, explore and heal, to write your own story and be the best version of you this is restoration.

Through life you may feel as though you are in a constant fight with yourself. Where the history of your battles have not been won, but only suppressed. Overtime they are unknowingly disarmed and you find yourself walking across an unknown terrain that triggers you to fall apart.
With this comes the ability to pick up your broken pieces and put them all back together healthily. What is great about being human is the ability to learn and grow. With my own life experiences like this, my passion grew heavily in this field. My passion is to help guide those in their unknown terrain they may be approaching, going through, or having already gone through. To help guide you when you are feeling mentally and emotionally torn, and feeling like you are not enough.
To help guide you to learn yourself, and to grow from your experiences. Throughout my life, I grew and learned to pick up my broken pieces bit by bit, and piece them back together to reflect, grow, and create a fulfilling and beautiful life.
My mission as a therapist is to provide that safe zone to help guide you to pick up your pieces and put them back together healthily with no guilt, shame, or judgment. To help guide you in understanding the meaning of Enough, because you are Enough.

Restoration is to heal, and healing takes time and effort. Renewal is the outcome of the hard work put in to restoring oneself. For me, this looks like organization and making time for my own self-care. With reflection, we are able to identify changes that must occur in our life. I believe that we go through many restore and renew cycles in our lifetime and each is special in their own way.
My priority as a therapist is to meet each client where they are in life, while utilizing a person-centered approach, as I believe that each client is the expert of their own life, experiences, and needs. My goal is to empower each client to share their story, discover their strengths, and make positive and meaningful changes in their lives.
My hope as a therapist is to provide each client with a safe and trusting environment, where each client feels comfortable and supported, while we work together to develop coping skills, change negative self-talk, and find ways to achieve your goals.
I believe that one of the most important aspects of therapy is building a trusting relationship with my clients so that they feel comfortable sharing their story with me, going at their own pace, and allowing me to help guide them through their time of self-healing and self-acceptance.

When something is restored, it is brought back to its original condition. When something is renewed, it is given fresh life and new strength. I hear so often that clients want to feel like themselves again…to be restored. I believe that through counseling, a client can not only be brought back to their original healthy condition, but that they can be renewed as well. So what does it mean to be restored and renewed? My hope is that clients will leave having found their way back to themselves with a fresh strength and a new hope.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based techniques, including mindfulness mediation and cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help clients manage and reduce anxiety. I am dedicated to creating a safe and empathetic space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards their personal goals. My ultimate aim is to empower individuals to lead fulfilling and balanced lives.
I am currently enrolled at Spring Arbor University in the Master’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I received a Bachelor’s in Psychology from University of Michigan – Flint.
I love spending my time with my dogs Winston and Franklin. When we aren’t playing, I like to knit and crochet. My goal is to make an entire wardrobe. My other favorite pastime is reading mystery and fantasy novels. I’m always taking recommendations!
Being restored to me means not just returning to a previous state but an elevation to a new, redeemed status. Renewal is an ongoing process of growth and transformation. Together, being restored and renewed means overcoming past challenges and emerging with a fresh sense of purpose, strength, and well-being.
Trials and tribulations can arise despite our age, race, religion, sex, or background. Despite our intersectionality, we all deserve and need a safe space to explore our thoughts, feelings, experiences, and behaviors; understanding the impact of all aspects of our lives allows us to use that information to recognize patterns and create new ones. I receive immense joy by allowing others to be seen, heard, valued, and respected in my presence. I often spend my spare time encouraging others to live in their truth and providing them with the space to do so. If you’re looking for someone who is empathetic, motivational, and encouraging, I am a referral away! You don’t have to know where to begin, you just have to be ready to start!
I am passionate about supporting children, teens, adults, and couples through challenges, anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, life stressors, and adversities using mindfulness and psychotherapy. The body, mind, and spirit are all connected— everything begins with our mind. I believe that physical and emotional pain can be difficult to overcome alone. I believe that therapy doesn’t just provide you with a safe space to go through your pain, but actually help teach you how to grow through your pain. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive and trauma informed care to those that are ready to embark on their healing journey.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree and MSW from Michigan State University. In addition, I obtained the Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certificate at Michigan State University.
I enjoy traveling, motivational speaking, and writing spoken word and poetry. I value spending time with my husband, and immediate family. I love trying new kinds of fried sushi!
To me being restored and renewed means recreating ourselves and our lives, to the way that we want them to be— even with the pieces of ourselves that we may feel are broken. As well as, re-establishing healthy boundaries, beliefs, values, coping mechanisms, and habits. To be Restored and Renewed allows us to accept what has happened to us, redefine who we are, and become who we want to be! There is light even in the dark, and if we never experience ugly storms we’ll never truly be grateful for the beautiful rainbow that comes after. I am here for you. Better Thinking. Better Feelings. Better Behaviors.

Hi, I’m Ashley. I have had an interest in counseling for many years but did not know it would be in the mental health arena. Mental health hits very close to home for me. I know what it’s like to live in chaos, struggle with anxiousness/depression, process trauma, and fight for life. Through strengths-based approach, holistic self-care practices, and talk therapy; I will help you to work through the struggles that have had your nervous system in flight and fight mode, address and process the trauma that’s been suppressed, and help you to live your best life on purpose, all in a safe and non-judgmental environment. My specific areas of interest include; Maternal Health Counseling-specifically postpartum, familial dysfunction, domestic violence/abuse, trafficking survivors, and cultural sensitivity.
You are deserving of living your best life and you deserve to do so with respect, kindness, love and dignity!
I graduated with my MBA from Eastern Michigan University this past summer (2024). Previously, I have a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Siena Heights University, 2017), a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies with double minors in Communication and Psychology from Rochester College (Now Rochester Christian University, 2010), and two Associate’s degrees in Liberal Arts (Schoolcraft College, 2006) and Accounting (Washtenaw Community College, 2022).
I’m all about self-care! Some of my self-care practices, which are fun, include shopping, walking, enjoying nature and fresh air, Decaf Pumpkin Spice lattes, Lake Michigan, facials, massages, mani/pedi’s, and vacationing with my husband and children.
To me, being restored and renewed is an evolving process. I believe once we tackle and overcome one challenge, we are being prepared for going through, overcoming, and healing in the next obstacle. Each obstacle we face and grow from helps restore us in ways that lead to becoming the best version of ourselves, and hopefully, with renewed sense of self, our perspective of the world around us, and a better understanding of the relationships we choose to have in our lives.
